HAVEN: Help Abolish Violence Everywhere Now is the non-profit humanitarian arm of CH Consulting Group. We believe everyone deserves a community safe from acts of violence.

Creating a Safe Haven is not just about actions at the time of, or in response to, a disaster. The level of preparedness of the targeted population will have a direct effect on the impact of the disaster. At best, a well-prepared, aware and empowered community is capable of (and has before) prevented mass violence and other human-caused disasters. Making sure our communities are prepared, resilient and ready to partner together to deal with mass violence is a smart investment of community resources. Empowered communities become prepared, and prepared communities become resilient.

We work with partners at all levels – governance, policy, management, and practice – to achieve this, while continuing to promote preparedness and resiliency. We focus on collaborating with community, cultural and faith leaders, focusing on communities of color, and their respective teams to create communities that are safe, have an increased ability to respond to crisis or mass violence or disasters.

We support and conduct research, education, and informational activities to increase public awareness of various factors impacting the safety of the community, with a goal of reducing the impact of natural or human-made incidents by creating a resilient community.

Through education, outreach, community, and stakeholder engagement, and planning, the community will benefit by becoming more resilient and prepared to respond when something occurs in their communities. We also identify gaps in current planning for acts of violence in communities.

The bottom line: We help build safer and more resilient communities through planning and training to prepare for and respond to disasters, emergencies, and violence.
